About Me

I’m an ex-science student at Mount Royal University, and am now in the English program. I know, it’s insane — where will a Bachelor of English take me in life? It’s about the journey, in my opinion. I want to explore my world through literature. I want to meet like-minded people. I want to write, a lot.
I once talked to this bald-headed student at an English Students get together at Mount Royal. During our brief conversation, he said he didn’t like being in English any more. The essays were draining him of his soul. As funny as this sounds, he was considering switching into the Science program after finishing his Bachelor of English.
Me? I like forms of writing. Whether it be creative writing, academic, reviews, rants, and what have you. Writing is about expression, and conveying ideas to an audience. It’s one of the most important disciplines in our world. That’s my opinion anyways.
Where my passion of writing came from I’m unsure of. In the second and third grade I remember writing a story about Godzilla (the really bad re-make Godzilla that had a cartoon series) and some girl. I also put together strange novels with pictures, most were Star Wars fan fictions, and the funny thing is I’m not a big Star Wars nerd. I used to read a book day in Elementary school, but in junior high my thirst for reading evaporated when I started reading Tom Clancy. Now that I’m in the English program I have began to read more. Particularly Canadian literary journals.
I’ve always been a PC gamer. My first love was the half life series of games and mods. My second love was Warcraft III, then World of Warcraft. I still buy PC games via steam on a regular basis, but I am finding the iPad and iPhone platforms mo intriguing. Hundreds of new games are released a week on the app store, and I love to download and play them.
About Lone Swing
Lone Swing is a personal blog. It’s my commitment to writing. Over the past year it has evolved from a small word-only blog with a hit a day, to a blog about fiction and iDevices. I’ve been working hard to improve the quality of Lone Swing for the readers that do stumble upon here. What I post is not always perfect, but I feel I’m becoming a better writer with time.
These days Lone Swing his hosting my reviews of iPhone and iPad games. I also like to write short guides for popular iPhone and iPad games, if I find the time.
Nice knowin’ ya,
